Ash Tree Boat Club is a Non profit making organisation, with it s primary functions being the social enjoyment of the Inland Waterways by the membership together with associated activities involving the enhancement of the canal system throughout the country. We have one type of membership, which is called "Family membership", this entitles a family of one/two parents and any number of children under 18 years of age to hold membership all covered by the one Family membership fee. The Club was formed in the Autumn of 1970 by a handful of enthusiasts encouraged by Eileen Lakin who was then the owner of the Ash Tree Inn, a canal side pub adjacent to bridge 62 on the Trent and Mersey Canal at Rugeley.
